The lore
Nobody knows his name. Just the grease-stained hat, the 3am shifts, and the spatula that never got a day off.
One night he flipped his last patty. Then he flipped one SOL. He hung up the apron, walked out the back door past the dumpster, and never came back.
Across town, a tired IT guy in a hoodie and lanyard was fixing prod at 2am. He saw the paper hat, grabbed a spatula from the office kitchen, and raised it. Same tribe. Different grill.
And at a kitchen table somewhere, someone sat under a pile of past-due envelopes with one egg in the fridge. The cook knocked on the window, spatula up, and waved them in. Nobody here judges. Everybody here gets it.
Kitchen, cubicle, Jira board, kitchen table: if you're stuck on shift, you're one of us. Now the grill is ours. Every holder is on shift. Every paper hat is a salute. The diner never closes.
